About the Bodrum Music Festival
D-Marin Music Festival, heading steadily towards becoming a global festival by hosting renowned artists both from Turkey and around the world within the historical texture and unique natural beauty of Bodrum, has transformed into Bodrum Music Festival last year. To be held for the 14th time between the 4th and 8th of August this year, a busy and pleasant five-day program awaits music lovers at the Bodrum Music Festival.
The festival will be held with the generous support of the founding sponsor Doğuş Group, with the goal of transforming the culturally significant peninsula of Bodrum into an important and essential destination of art routes. This year the festival has a robust and vibrant program. The festival will be spreading classical music over the historical peninsula, hosting stars of classical music including Fazıl Say, Gülsin Onay, Murat Karahan, Christina Pluhar, Lauren Fagan, Alina Pogostkina, Víkingur Ólafsson, Avi Avital as well as virtuosos Sevil Ulucan, Hillel Zori, İbrahim Yazıcı, Erman Türkili, Çağ Erçağ, Gülru Ensari, Dorukhan Doruk, Camille Thomas, Veriko Tchumburidze and also orchestras and ensembles including The Presidential Symphony Orchestra of Turkey, L’Arpeggiata, Olten Quartet and the Ludwig Orchestra.
The festival will take place from sunrise until midnight, for the duration of five days. In addition to a number of concerts where star performers and ensembles that have represented Turkey successfully abroad perform, the festival will also host concerts where rising stars meet, hold movie viewings and guided tours intertwined with classical music at the landmarks of Bodrum.
All ticket revenues will be donated to Tohum Autism Foundation and Bodrum Health Foundation. Gülsin Onay’s concert ticket sales revenue will be contributed to Gümüşlük Classical Music Festival.Also as a part of the festival this year Doğuş Group’s corporate social responsibility platform “Sanata Bi Yer” (A Space For Art) converts spaces for the use of university students to exhibit their works at various locations. Exhibitions await art lovers who desire to be inspired and support young artists.
Photographs of Bodrum taken at various times by Ara Güler are brought together for the first time at the 14th Bodrum Music Festival. One of the leading supporters of developing art and culture in Turkey, the Doğuş Group collaborates in an archive and museum project to hand down Ara Güler’s artistic identity and works to the next generations. As a reflection of the Ara Güler Museum planned to open in the second half of this year in Bomotiada by the Doğuş Group, Bodrum in various times themed photograph selection from Ara Güler Archive and Research Center collection will be presented to art enthusiasts’ appreciation at The Marmara Bodrum.
